Bennett and I finally got to attend the Light the Night walk tonight.  I felt really proud of myself and was inspired by the amount of people that joined in along with us.  The weather wasn’t very cooperative but it didn’t seem to phase anyone.

There were three different colors of balloons: gold (in memory), white (survivors) and red (in honor).  Bennett and I got some sweet long sleeved t’s and sweatshirts….as well as a red balloon for each of us to honor my big bro.  (We love you Billy!)

Before the actual walk started, we all gathered in the gymnasium at Wheeling Jesuit University and the speaker had everyone lower their balloons.  She then asked everyone to hold their balloons up by individual color so you could see how many of each of the colors there were.  It felt really good to see how many white balloons were in the crowd because that’s what we were striving for with this walk: a cure.

There were a TON of red balloons and we felt that it was the appropriate time for them to start playing “99 Luft Balloons”.  Unfortunately, the song never played.  It still felt good to be a part of something like this.  Thanks to everyone that donated!!!
