Bennett is really into music. As am I…but he just has a different taste/style than I do when it comes to his main interest. I guess you could say I’m a little bit country and he’s a little bit….eclectic. (We do come together when it comes to 60’s/70’s/80’s rock, though.)
While we were living in Michigan, he decided to purchase some turn tables and then began a record collection and started learning the ways of the dj. At first I didn’t understand the appeal but it’s kind of the way he doesn’t understand why I love crafting so much.
Everybody needs their hobby, right?
The other night, he had a friend over that has been dj-ing for a few years now and I think it really helped Bennett with perfecting his craft. It’s always worth it to have a pro show you the ropes. 🙂
After he left, Bennett let me try my hand at mixing. Instead of all that crazy electronica music, I chose the musical stylings of ABBA and Culture Club. Haha…yes, Bennett even has those records!!
It's too bad that Bennett and Aaron didn't spend more time together while he was here. Did you know that Aaron dj'd in a club thru college? He has quite a vinal collection (LOTS of 80's stuff). You can always tell his mood by which music he drags out and how much of the equipment he uses… 🙂
Aaron should ditch the 80's music (if you can call it that) and borrow your Mom's albums. The Beatles…now they made music.
Aunt Vicki
Umm….can we just all get along and say that The Beatles AND 80's music are amazing? 🙂
Bennett has both in his collection.
We are huge Beatles fans.
I am sure Mom's albums turned to dust by now they are so OLD!! But Mom and Dad do have a lot of Jurrasic Rock, I mean Classic Rock….
