Licensed to marry?

May 29, 2009

Bennett and I did one of the more exciting things on this journey-to-be-wed the other day:  We got our marriage license!!  🙂

It’s actually pretty funny because it literally took us all of fifteen minutes to complete the task, but it’s such an important step in this process.  I’ve watched enough reality bridal shows that make getting the license such a painful process…but it was no problem for us at all.  All we had to do was walk in, show our id’s, tell them we weren’t married to someone else or related to each other, and then we walked right out the door.  (More like we floated out the door on clouds, haha.)
It’s amazing to me how quickly this time is passing by us.  I think I keep saying it, but it’s so the truth!  We’ve got exactly two weeks from tomorrow until Bennett McKinley and Katy Boltze are Mr. & Mrs. McKinley.  It’s crazy!!
As for this picture, I’m pretty proud of myself and felt like sharing my new accomplishment.  :)  Mary and I went to JoAnn’s Fabrics last night and picked out some fabric and ribbons for me to make the perfect WVU garter.  It’s my way of having pride for the greatest sports team EVER, as well as have my "something blue".
Maybe I should go into the garter making business? 🙂
