Today is officially the beginning of our second trimester – and we couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome this new stage in our Bean’s development. Most of the issues that could occur happen during the first trimester and we’ve sailed through that part so far, so it looks like we’re doing really well! It’s really quite amazing to think that I’m going into the thirteenth week of pregnancy. Who knew time could fly this fast?
I’m starting to notice that my pants are getting tighter around the waist. Thank goodness that it’s only in the waist and I haven’t been expanding anywhere else. After losing so much weight, I’m not fully prepared to get chunky again just yet. I’m willing to let my belly grow for the baby…but I’m just hoping that the rest of me doesn’t expand too much. Bennett and I are getting increasingly excited about my belly, though – I can’t wait until I feel my first kick from the little munchkin.
We’ve got our fourth doctors appointment during the first week of March and we’re keeping our fingers crossed that we get to do the anatomy ultrasound during that time. We are DYING to find out the sex of the baby. I’m also excited because we will be able to hear the Bean’s heartbeat for the first time ever. I can only imagine the emotions during that moment…
In non-baby news, I guess I could give everyone an update about Billy. He’s doing well in Chicago, finishing up his treatments in the Windy City. From what I understand, he’s loving his time exploring the city and his hospital is located right off of Michigan Avenue so he’s downtown and has lots of things to do and see. He’s started a recovery blog that I would encourage everyone to check out and write to him on. There’s a section called “Inspiring Messages” where you can leave notes of encouragement or to just let him know you’re thinking about him. The website is: mylifeline.org/billboltze
ALSO – It’s getting close to the time where Bennett (and possibly Sierra) and I will be doing our Light the Night Walk. I believe the date is April 14 and we will be walking in honor of our courageous big brother. I mean…who else would we be doing this for? :) The link to the fundraising page is always listed on the side of our blog here, or here’s the site: Light the Night. Please help us reach our goal of $300, we are already halfway there due to some generous donations from our friends on facebook.
