6 Month Marker

May 5, 2010

What a milestone!  We’ve reached Week 24, which is also the beginning of the 6th month of our pregnancy.  Holy cow!  That means we’ve only got 16 more weeks until we meet our little man.  Sometimes I think, “I can’t wait” and others I’m thinking, “I need more time”.  It’s like a constant battle between wanting to hold little Louis and wishing that we had more time to get things ready for his arrival.  Either way, we are mostly excited that time is drawing nearer.  Bennett and I actually went shopping and got a couple of cute onesies and jammies.  Why are tiny clothes so freaking cute?!

Week 24 - 2010.05.03

I had another doctors appointment today and Bennett switched his schedule around to be there with me.  It was short and sweet but I guess that’s the way I should like it.  No ultrasound this time (darn it!) but we did get to hear Louis’ heartbeat.  Dr. Pizarro was able to find it almost as soon as he touched the instrument to my stomach and Louis’ heart was very strong.  Amazing.  He said that it was beating at 150 beats per minute and seemed to be happy with everything.  Bennett was glowing as usual and I left the office all giddy because we got to hear him again.

I’m not looking forward to the next appointment because it’s my glucose screening.  Hopefully the horror stories that I’ve heard from other girls aren’t true and it’s easy breezy.  I’m keeping things positive!

P.S. As I was typing this, Louis was kicking and kicking and kicking me.  I think he just wanted to say hi! 🙂

Hey hun…just wanted to let you know the glucose test really wasn't that bad at all. The worst part for me was not getting to eat! By the time I left the doctor's office I was starving! I can't wait to meet little Louis and even more excited to find out if he has a little girlfriend or best buddy in my belly! Katy I can't believe how fast everything is going!!!
