Memorial Day-ish Cookout

May 31, 2010

Who loves long weekends??  This girl!!  So far, we’ve spent the weekend by taking a trip to the Pittsburgh area to Babies’R’Us on Saturday and grilling with the Wheeling McKinleys today.  Oh my goodness – Babies’R’Us is awesome.  An entire store dedicated to babies, what could be better?  I think I “awwed” and said “Oh my God, this is the cutest thing ever” more times in a two hour period than anyone ever has.  It was pretty ridiculous.

Today was a great day all the way around because the weather was AMAZING and we got to grill with the family.  Bennett whipped up some super awesome hamburgers, the rest of the family brought corn-on-the-cob, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, baked beans…(the list goes on) and we pigged out to some delicious bbq food.

Davey and Annie are always the highlight of entertainment when we are around them and today was no different.  Davey showed us his great skills as an athlete.  That little guy can throw a football like it’s nothing!  He played for a while with his dad and grandpa in Willow Glen’s yard for a while and I was really impressed with his abilities.

Annie found a seashell while she was out ‘exploring’ with Grandma Mary and we just thought this picture was too precious for words.  She was pretty excited about her discovery. 🙂

And really…what’s a blog post without a new picture of Bennett and me?IMG_3024

So here’s to the last day of our three-day weekend being as great as the first two.  We have plans to meet with some friends and check out the Oglebay Good Zoo, just up the road from our house.  I feel like we have been zoo addicts lately.  But really…if you’re going to be addicted to something, attending zoos isn’t the worst thing you could do.

Happy Memorial Weekend everyone!
