We’ve got a lot to celebrate!

Jun 16, 2010

This past weekend came and went in a flash…but it was one to remember, that’s for sure.

Saturday was the first official celebration in Louis’ honor and I got to be surrounded by a ton of my favorite women.  Meredith hosted an amazing baby shower at Willow Glen and we had a wonderful time.  Have you ever noticed that opening baby gifts is the most fun gift opening ever?  I was BLESSED to be receiving all of those sweet gifts for our little Louis – he’s spoiled already and not even here yet!

IMG_3120 I truly have some awesome sisters-in-law, since they were the masterminds behind the party.  Amy made the cutest shower invitations (sometimes I wish I were as crafty as her) and Meredith had everything planned down to the last detail to make the day incredibly special for me.  Thank you guys so much for everything you do!  And obviously, thank you Mary for everything as well!

Sunday was a very special day for us as well because it marked the anniversary of Bennett’s and my wedding.  It’s hard to believe that it’s already been a year since that incredible day.  We were surrounded by everyone that we love and got to pronounce our dedication to one another (and a certain bride may have cried through the entire vow section and father-daughter dance….and best man/maid of honor speeches).  If I could do it all over again I would.  IMG_3138

We made sure to eat some of our cake topper.  Bennett was pretty amazed that it tasted good, even after a year of sitting in the freezer.  I think it’s just because my mom is such an amazing baker and there’s no way her cake wouldn’t taste good a year later.  This anniversary was our “paper anniversary” and Bennett got me the coolest gift ever.  He found a flower vase made entirely of recycled paper and I LOVE it.  As soon as I get some flowers to put in it, I hope to put a picture on here to share with everyone.  He’s seriously the best gift giver ever.  I’m a lucky girl.  He’s handsome AND thoughtful?  Of course I married him!

And now….for the weekly photo update: Week 30.  We are 3/4 of the way through our entire pregnancy and I seriously can’t believe that it’s gone as fast as it has.  We had a doctor’s appointment today and Bennett and I got to hear Louis’ heartbeat again.  Dr. Pizarro said that it was registering at 142 beats per minute and that everything seemed to be where it was supposed to be.  We’ve got ten weeks people!!  He’s almost here!
