Light the Night 2011

Apr 28, 2011

I’m cheating just a bit and posting this on both my personal blog and Katy’s Creations blog.  They both pertain to the same matter, so it counts!!

Today was the third Light the Night walk that Bennett and I participated in.  As usual, April in West Virginia threatened bad weather the entire time but it ended up being a fairly nice day.  (Yay spring!)

I showed a bit more initiative this year by volunteering my time beforehand – most of which was spent blowing up balloons.  I can’t even begin to tell you how much stress it is to do that, haha.  I popped more balloons than I ever hope to ever again…you think it would have gotten easier with every burst but it was not.  Not at all.

Louis wasn’t much of a sport during the big event, but we still had him hold the balloon.  Haha…isn’t he sweet?

Anyway, the celebratory part: We raised over $500 and 45 hats were donated.  Pretty darn great if you ask me!!  Caps for Chemo was a super success and I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders now that everything has officially been donated.  Yay!!

Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who donated money, time, encouragement and everything else along the way!  We will see you next year for another round, perhaps??
