Adventures in Babysitting

May 16, 2011

When we got the call on Wednesday, we were nothing short of ecstatic about being able to watch Davey and Annie in order for the parents to go out to dinner this weekend.  It amazes me that, even though we live in the same town and only a few miles from each other, we hardly get to see Bennett’s brother and his family.

Luckily, we got to spend some time with the kiddos on Friday!  Annie, Davey and Louis have a mutual infatuation with each other and it was super sweet to have the three cousins together.

Getting the three of them to smile at the same time was impossible.  But we did come home with some cute pictures to share.

When we were about to put Davey and Annie to bed, Davey wanted to read from his chapter book to Louis but was too distracted whenever his little cousin would touch his arm.  It was adorable.  So instead Davey read us all a short story, they kissed Louis’ head about a million times ‘goodnight’ and they were off to bed.  I was really impressed by how well Davey can read!  He is quite the bright little guy (not to mention handsome).

I have this ongoing battle with Annie about my hair color.  She refuses to back down on what color she thinks my hair is…constantly calling it orange.  She just won’t give in!  Those stubborn McKinley genes run strong in that one, haha.  Anyway, I thought I was coming closer to red hair when she drew this gorgeous picture of me.

I think she noted my excitement because she quickly shot me down and let me know she didn’t have an orange marker to color my hair with.  Haha.  I’m never going to win!!
