If you’re a friend of mine on Facebook, then you’ve already seen this picture. But I just have to share it again. Louis is getting his first tooth!! One day shy of his 9-month birthday, a tooth has finally decided to show itself.
Please try and excuse the mass amounts of drool and boogers surrounding my child’s face. He is a baby, after all. Haha.
We’ve been experiencing for the last two nights what it means to help a baby through teething. It’s not fun. The poor guy makes it through the day without a stitch (well…a little grumpy but it’s when I’m at work so Bennett deals with the majority of it) and then at night it just ERUPTS. He makes me so sad when he cries and cries and I can’t help anything.
I wish I could just explain to him that we’ve all gone through it and survived. That he just needs to let it ride and it will all get better. I’m not sure if anyone has any advice on how to get a 9-month old to understand that teething is just a part of life. 🙂 It looks like there will be many nights ahead of us with lots of cuddles and soothing…it’s nothing that the McKinley parenting team can’t handle.
In celebration, I decided to run a contest with Katy’s Creations. Go check out the details here: “Toothy Grin” Photo Contest. Play along with me, I beg of you! I’m dying to see all of the fun photos people will send me of sweet little ones and their best toothy grins. It’ll also give you a chance to win a $15.00 gift card to items from Katy’s Creations.
I thought that, in the spirit of all things teeth, it would be cute/fun to post a picture of old photos of Bennett and me and our best toothy grins. 🙂 These are the ones that I was able to come across:
We were a couple of good looking kids, weren’t we? No wonder Louis is such a cutie pie!
