While I’ve already blogged twice in the new year, I thought I’d still go ahead and share the few photos that I actually managed to take on New Year’s Eve. We had a fabulous evening. Apparently, I had too fabulous of an evening because I was a waste of space the next day. But that’s neither here nor there.
Glenn and the amazing OVYP members threw a shindig at the Professional Building, calling it ‘Party like it’s 1913’ and banning the use of cell phones. We were there to enjoy each other’s company and were required to disconnect for a bit. I managed to snap a few photos, but mostly of the cutest party attendee. Thank goodness they had party favors because it kept Louis busy most of the night, running back and forth between the various hats, clackers and noise makers.
Megan and Chris came along for the festivities. We didn’t spend too much time out, as our 3-year old dictator wanted to “go home and see the guys”. So a couple of drinks and we headed home for some card games (and more drinks, of course).
I can’t remember the last time I actually drank out of glass champagne glasses. It makes you feel so much fancier, even if you are drinking Andre while using them. It’s all about balance.
The evening basically consisted of drinks, snuggles, smooches, laughter and staying up way past all of our bedtimes. But it was lovely.
My favorite thing to do on New Year’s Eve is make a resolution, write it down and seal it into an envelope to open in a year. It’s always fun to see what you’ve accomplished and how your goals have evolved/changed. My Mom always had us do this and I’ve continued the tradition for several years now. (Which reminds me, I need to send out the ones for everyone that attended our NYE party last year but we didn’t see this year.)
Louis helped me write down his goals for 2014. They involved: learning shapes, learning new songs and going to school. So sweet and easily obtainable! Although, I can’t figure out why he’s so concerned about learning shapes when the kiddo knows “crescent”, “octagon” and “dodecahedron”. He just really likes shapes and apparently wants to keep on liking them. Works for me!
Happy New Year!
