Feenerty Farm.

Mar 25, 2014

In life, you should make friends with people who:
— own a truck.
— own a sewing machine.
— own a swimming pool (working on this one for this summer, haha).
— own a farm.

Luckily, we have the Feenertys for our farm-friend needs. Don and Angela live the type of life that Bennett and I crave and hopefully will obtain sometime down the road.  They’re both creative, talented and a little crazy (the good crazy) and they live mostly off of what they are able to grow on their own land.  They might not be aware but Bennett and I are taking notes on everything they tell us.

Saturday was warm-ish and we headed to the Feenerty farm to let Louis play with some animals.  It ended up being bad timing on our part because Lou was a little tired and not as into it as we’d thought but he did enjoy the moments where he wasn’t clinging to me in a tight “pretend to not be tired” hug.

Right now they have baby sheep and goats that are THE cutest little things ever.  The lambs were adorable but I think I would have taken a goat home if they would have offered.  She was just so sweet and cuddly.

Bennett is trying to convince me that we need chickens.  For eggs.  I get the whole fresh egg concept but…Ugh.  I will seriously agree to pretty much any animal that isn’t a chicken.  Or a goose.  Really just anything without feathers…I can’t handle birds for some reason.  They creep me out.  Apparently we will just need to ease me into farm life with the cute, hairy animals first.  Feathered creatures can wait.

Thanks again Don & Angela for letting us interrupt your weekend!

Birds are a no go for me as well! I had to catch one once that had gotten into a cabin at the camp I was working at all while my campers stood around laughing at my shrieking. I'm not sure who was more frightened, me or the poor bird. I could totally cuddle up with one of those lambs though, how sweet! Oh…and my parents have a pool. You should check it out if the weather ever decides change! 🙂
