The Vagabond Kitchen + MMitA

Jun 4, 2014

Our friends Matt and Katie are about to open a restaurant in town and we couldn’t be more excited for them.  Taking something that you’re passionate about and turning into something tangible is awesome.  I can’t wait.

The Vagabond Kitchen is going to be full of homemade deliciousness.  I have all the faith in these two to create atmosphere, community, art and amazing cuisine within the four walls they’ve been given.

They are located inside of the McClure Hotel in downtown Wheeling.  Check out their Facebook page if you guys have any specific questions about the happenings of Wheeling’s newest eatery: https://www.facebook.com/thevagabondkitchen

The Vagabond Kitchen will be having a soft-opening on Sunday (June 8!!) with a Brunch Buffett that is worth attending.  Local artist, Michael Iafrate, will be playing live music AND Bennett will have Meet Me in the Alley portraits for a gallery preview event.  All in one place, at one time.  Stoked.

We were in the restaurant last night to get the photos up and on the walls for the big event.  We may or may not have run into a few hiccups that will lead to creative planning on how to keep the photos from dive bombing off of the wall…but this is why we do things early.  So we can learn 10,000 ways things don’t work and come up with one that will.

Regardless of what happens, I’m super excited for everything to come together this Sunday.  And I’m thrilled for our friends, my hubs and the City of Wheeling.  This is one more step toward growth and development of our beautiful city.  Let’s keep the momentum going!

Matt snapped this photo of me last night.  I suggested that we get all 24 of the people who’s photos are being displayed to be “live art” in front of their portraits.  Not sure if others will be game…but I was working on getting my smize on for a second time.  #nailedit
