a post about nothing.

Jul 1, 2014

I had to make a run to Kroger last night and I saw these poppers/pop-its/whateveryoucallthem while I was in line during checkout.  Obviously I had to get them.  Obviously.

Louis was stoked.  Can you tell?
I am not the world’s biggest fireworks fan.  I enjoy them from afar but I don’t like when Bennett sets them off because I always am picturing some crazy injury that he’s about to sustain.  I think I will be having a million heart attacks when they day comes that Louis wants to play with them.

Basically, I like to stick to poppers and sparklers.  I know, I’m such a wuss.

The humidity levels are rising and as much as I want to be outside, I also don’t want to be outside.  If I had to pick a favorite activity, sweating wouldn’t be it.  Just saying.  We complain about the cold and then we complain about the heat.  It’s how we do it in America, yes?

But I do like the evening temperatures for now.  And being outside when the sun is starting to go down so Louis can play “look around” which just consists of looking for and shouting out all of the bugs he can spot.  Spoiler alert: it’s mostly daddy longlegs and millipedes.  Those are the new house-surrounding infesters of the time being.

Plus, this time of day provides for the best pictures.  And you should know by now how much I like taking pictures of Lou.  I can’t help it.

These were all edited completely in Lightroom, which I’m starting to learn more and more about.  I don’t know if I am there yet but I’m at least willing to try something new, right?  For some reason or another, I’m still drawn to Photoshop for editing, even if everybody and their brother tells me that Lightroom can cut my time in half or more.  I’ll keep trying.
