I may have already shared some of the brilliant photos Bennett took of them, but I figured I’d gush about our fun weekend with Nick, Sierra and Delilah as well. Because I can.
The nice thing about having a great relationship with your little sister is that visits are awesome. They always feel too short but they’re wonderful. And easy. And you don’t feel like you really have to entertain or go out of your way to make sure they have a good time. Because you always do, no matter what happens.
Even when your 4-year old tries to steal the spotlight while family photos are being taken, his Auntie doesn’t mind one bit. I love my family.
We barely squeaked in a visit to the Good Zoo but it worked out in our favor. They close at 4:00 on Saturdays. I find that so weird. We were unaware of that fact and walked in at 3:10. Whoops. Regardless, we got in and checked out the dinosaurs and some of the animals. The kiddos (and parents!) also got to enjoy a little petting zoo action and fed the hungry goats. A super short and sweet zoo visit but it was still super fun.
Louis finds it hysterical when the goats follow him around and try and get food. He still continues to call them “little fellas” and I pretty much crack a smile every time it comes out of his mouth.
After the shotgun zoo trip, we went to the playground for a hot minute. Well, a cool minute really. Holy cow the weather has jumped to cooler fall-ish temperatures already! So much for a transition period. The wuss in me had a hard time adjusting in the morning while I was just sitting in my living room with the window open. Crap.
I’m super glad we got the time that we did with Sierra, Nick and Delilah. D is such a little cutie pants. And she’s super smart too! Sierra got her to say “Katy” so basically I can close out the weekend as a complete win. She’s so full of personality at one, so I am greatly looking forward to what this little curly-q is going to be like as the years go on.
Thanks for the visit guys! We miss you already. Come back soon?
