October WeeBox | Vinegar + Honey Co.

Nov 9, 2017

I revealed what I made from the October BeeBox for myself yesterday, and today I’m sharing what I made with the kid’s version of the fabric subscription box from Vinegar + Honey Co.

And I’m sorry but not at all…because I have major mommy goggles and Louis is beautiful, so I’m sharing allllllll the pictures, haha.  This is my blog, friends.  You can deal with it.

If you need a refresher course on what I’m even talking about with “BeeBox” and “WeeBox”, here you go!

It’s a subscription fabric service.  You sign up for the monthly deliveries but you are able to skip a month or cancel at any time.  The BeeBox is geared toward women’s apparel sewing, and there are both girls and boys versions of the WeeBox.

For $25, you get:
— 2 yards of gorgeous fabric*
— Inspiration for what to create
— Coupon code for a discount on the pattern they featured that month
— Shipping! That’s right, shipping is included!

*Yardage may be a continuous cut of the same fabric or two complementary fabrics.

This is the first time I got to play with the WeeBox and I loved getting something special in the mail, just for Louis.  As soon as I saw it, I knew it would be a perfect pj set.  Soft, cute/bold print…perfect for something to wear now that the weather has been on the colder side.  Plus, he’s outgrown practically all of his “comfy pants” and I thought it’d be great to make some new ones for him.

I’ve already had to wash these once before even being able to photograph this little dude because he wanted to wear them to bed when I had him try them on the first time around.  So here we are, with freshly washed jams.  For being washed twice now, the colors are just as vibrant as when I first opened my package AND there isn’t really any pilling that I see.  Perfection.

I wanted to squeeze as much as possible out of these prints and get a full outfit.  So I settled on a pair of Baby Bear Joggers and a Jolly Roger Raglan, both of which are Patterns for Pirates designs.  I had to strategically cut the raglan, and while I normally don’t give Louis shirts with a bottom band, I did this time so I could get the proper length out of his top.  And then of course the sleeves could only be as long as 3/4 length because that’s all I had left of the fabric.  However, Louis gets hot easily anyway, so sleeping in long sleeves would probably be too much for him.

But seriously can we talk about how adorable that printed knit is?  Imagine them printing that on a French Terry?  ZOMYGOSH, I’d die.

I’m so glad I got to capture that toothless smile of this little man.  He’s just recently lost his other front top tooth and it seriously melts me.  I thought he’d be awkward when he started losing teeth, but Louis has proven that his cute shines through every stage of life.  Goodness he’s gorgeous.  (Told you there were mommy goggles.)
