Whenever something big happens and I start to feel super sad / down / helpless, it always helps me to create something that has a positive message to it. It might sound silly, but forcing myself to find a positive message during a less-than-positive time makes me a little more hopeful. I wish I didn’t ever feel the need to make these things. But here we are again.
One of the coolest blogging experiences to-date was when I was contacted about this Cricut blog tour. They wanted to get a bunch of us sewing bloggers together to see what we could come up with for projects that involved their iron-on products.
Considering that my whole business is built from the iron-on and HTV world, I couldn’t say no to this opportunity. And really I couldn’t say no in general, because it sounded so fun! I was officially counted in!
Do you ever run into a creative block? I do for sure. And it’s A FREAKING BUMMER when it happens. Like, life altering. When I want to make something but can’t figure out what to make, it’s straight up depressing.
I went through it with these fabrics from RP Custom Fabrics. They’re gorgeous and I wanted to do them justice. It basically destroyed my sewjo….and then a lightbulb went off. Star Wars. The answer is Star Wars. (In reality, the answer is always Star Wars.)
We are always looking to gift something to people that is handmade, unique, useful, and that Louis can help us with. Since Mother’s Day was coming up, we really wanted to gift the Grandmas something that fit all of those requirements, and I think we nailed it with this one.
Want to make your own DIY Serving Tray? We’ve got you covered!
…I’m here to bring you a new Star Wars free cut file, so you can decorate your shirts join our family is nerding out. It’s Star Wars Day every day, so don’t worry if you can’t get to making something today!
St. Patrick’s Day is around the corner and I’ve got a freebie crochet pattern for you! Sure, most people want to make leprechaun hats. But I’ve always wanted to figure out how to make a pixie hat and this sounded like a fun alternative. Let’s hop to it!
We totally had a plan for Louis’ Valentine’s Day cards but failed to make them happen. So last night, we went to Michaels and wracked our brains for something quick and easy we could put together for his classmates. I don’t know why ponybead friendship bracelets are so endearing to me…they just are! So we decided to write out each of the kiddo’s names and gift them some new fun bracelets to wear.
I’m so excited to share that my first ever guest blogging opportunity with Stitch & Unwind is live today! The awesome people who run the crochet + knitting giant have let me share this super adorable Robot Crochet Hat pattern on their site. So excited!
It’s probably been too long since I’ve shared a crochet pattern on here…so I thought I’d change that. During the cooler months, all I seem to want to do is crochet and I thought it’d be fun to share a super easy pattern with you guys. So here’s a cute little penguin for your head. AND, I wrote it out for sizes newborn – adult, so you can make one for any size head you want!
When the news reached me, my day got a whole lot sadder.
Thank you for blessing us with all of your talents, Carrie Fisher.
May the Force be with you, Princess.
It’s time I brought a couple of freebies and tutorials to my own blog, eh? I wanted to make Louis another fun, festive Christmas shirt…and I thought it’d be fun to share with you guys too! So here it is!!
We are hosting a pumpkin carving party at our house today. And to me, a theme party ALWAYS equals a new shirt. Always. (But then just waking up in the morning and being alive is enough of a reason for me to make a new shirt....so......) Anyway. It's been a super...
