Wild & Wanderful

Mr. & Mrs. Archer

This weekend, Bennett and I headed down to Canaan Valley for one of my best friend’s weddings.  Ashley Larke (now Ashley Archer) married her high school sweetheart in one of the most beautiful spots I’ve ever seen an outdoor wedding take place.  It was simply gorgeous.  The weather was calling for rain the entire week and it ended up being sunny, rain-free and perfect.  It’s like Mother Nature knew not to mess with that bride on her special day.  (I was also a very lucky girl to have been in her bridal party!)

I have a lot of pictures that I want to share with everyone, but I think I’m going to try and limit myself from over-doing it.  Hopefully I’ve chosen the ones that best represent the wonderful weekend we spent in Tucker County, WV.

1.) This picture was taken at this “lookout” that Bennett and I have deemed as a great place to stop right before we hit Davis.  It was amazing to us how much ahead they are down there as far as Autumn is concerned.  There are hardly any trees in Wheeling that have started to change – but that’s totally not the case in the Canaan Valley.  Fall was in full effect and we enjoyed every single minute of the beautiful colors and the mountains.

2.) This is another one of the bridesmaids and myself.  We showed up early on Friday to help setup the reception hall.  Honestly, I don’t think I will EVER want to tie another satin bow for as long as I live, haha.

3.) Bennett can proudly say that he had something to do with the beauty of this table.  As far as I know (he may correct me), he put out the charger, chocolates, candles and leaves on a bunch of tables.  Who knew Bennett could be so good at decorating?

4.) The newlyweds.  Well, at this point they weren’t Mr. & Mrs. quite yet.  I snapped this during the rehearsal dinner the night before.

5.) You might know these two. :)  We were excited to be sharing such a special day with my good friend.

6.) I decided to model my bridesmaid flowers.  I LOVE fall and the color associated with it.

7.) Don’t we look good all dressed up?

8.) We were finally able to steal the bride and groom for a photo opportunity.  They had such a beautiful ceremony and the reception was really fun.  I believe they are now in Jamaica celebrating their nuptials at the Sandals Resort located there.  Lucky bums!

9.) Even though Bennett’s chin is the only thing that made it into this picture – I still love it.  These are some people that we made friends with that night and a couple of the people we already knew.  Let’s say that Bennett and I had a really great time tearing up the dance floor.  Who would expect anything else?

10.) We found our peace with nature that night.  The deer in Canaan  Valley are so domesticated that they were just hanging around outside of our hotel.  We literally just had to put out our hand and they were all over us – even giving kisses!  Bennett made the joke that we’re now going to discover a new virus: The Deer Flu.  It will be an epidemic passed through the Archer wedding party, I guess.  It’s actually pretty disturbing that wild animals have been forced to acclimate themselves to our world,  but I guess that’s just how it happens sometimes.
