A week ago, I said that I’d update everyone with David’s primary race – and yet here I am and this is the first I’m getting around to officially announcing it on our blog.  Whoops!  Good news!!!  He won!

David McKinley was announced as the Republican candidate for the 1st Congressional District of West Virginia on May 11, 2010!!  Woohoo!! Congratulations, David!  I’ve mentioned it before, but if you want to check out what he’s all about, visit his website: www.mckinley2010.com  I wish that I could find the video footage of Mary and David when it was announced LIVE from the office last Tuesday night.  It was pretty cool that he got to hear the news that he won the nomination the same time that the tv stations were there with cameras.  Proud moment for the McKinley family.

The road to the House continues from here…

We finally got around to planting the willow tree that Bennett got me for Mother’s Day.  Look at my big, strong husband digging a hole for Willow Glen’s newest willow tree.  I hope that it flowers like its supposed to this summer…it should be gorgeous.IMG_2103
This past weekend, Bennett and I went to the Pittsburgh Zoo with our friends Katie and Eric.  (Yes, I know I was at that very same zoo a week earlier…but it was still fun!)  We left pretty early in the morning and it seriously couldn’t have been a prettier day.  The only problem with nice days is that everybody else thinks its a good idea to go to the zoo so it was a bit more crowded than the last time I was there.  No matter, though.  We took about a million pictures and spent over three hours walking around.  It didn’t feel like we’d been walking around that long until we actually sat down.  Once we got home, Bennett and I were whipped but satisfied with our amazing day out.
That’s right – we got ANOTHER elephant picture!!  I mean, how could we resist?  We were seriously the only people at the zoo standing in line for a picture of the elephant without a child in tow.  We figured if anyone judged us, we could tell them that Louis was there with us.  Haha.  Bennett took so many amazing pictures during our zoo trip but I don’t have the energy to go through them right now to show them off.  Maybe one day he’ll decide to blog again and share some of them with you.  For now, I’ll just put up the picture of one of the best moments: the polar bears!
We were walking in the underwater tunnel and the polar bear decided to take a swim.  It was AMAZING.  She was playing with a ball and getting in and out of the water.  She gave us quite the show and it could have been the only thing I saw while we were there and still would have walked away satisfied.  (Have I ever mentioned I love polar bears?)

Last but not least, we have arrived at Week 26!  I am amazed that I ever thought my belly was big during the early weeks.  I’m seriously huge.  The thing I’m having a hard time believing is that I’ve got 14 more weeks of Louis growing (therefore, 14 weeks of me growing).  He’s becoming quite the soccer star inside my belly and lets me know that he’s always with  me.  It’s funny because I’ve grown so used to the feeling of him kicking that I don’t really pay attention when I’m up and around at work, etc.  Today was a fun one because I was standing across the room from Arleen, one of the ladies I work with, and she asked me if Louis just kicked.  Apparently she could see my belly move from across the room!  How cool.
Week 26 - 2010.05.18
Okay, so enough for now.  I’ve got a test in the morning that I need to do some studying for.  Summer school is making Bennett's and my life incredibly busy right now and I can’t wait for the next 7 1/2 weeks to be over with.
