I have to say that I'm a bit ashamed of how long it's taken me to post on here again. A LOT has happened and I'm not sure where to even begin with recapping our last couple of weeks.
As I'm sure most of you know by now, my father-in-law is West Virginia's newest Congressman. Woohoo! It was probably the most nerve wracking election I will ever experience -- but he beat his opponent and went home a victor that night. Elizabeth and Amy were both able to be here for election night and it was really nice that all of the siblings were together for that. Now if only we'd been able to steal Jackson, Thomas and Maxwell away from school (and Jim away from his job)!!
I've never been in print so much in my life. Haha...it was pretty neat to see a family member of mine in so many news medias. We were on the front cover of the Wheeling newspaper two days in a row, on the cover of the WV State Journal and in several videos on the news stations around here. That was just the stuff I was aware of too...
Congratulations David (and Mary), on your victory!!
Louis is growing like a WEED. I've tried to make him stop but he just won't listen to me. We've been able to squeeze him into newborn sized clothes for a while now but that has come to an end. He is just too big for them and is fitting very nicely in 3-6 month clothes. My big boy!
He is quickly becoming such a little man. I know at 12-weeks he's still very much a baby...but I feel like he's just growing up so fast. AHH! Bennett swears that he heard him giggle last night but I'm not convinced (that's only because I wasn't around to witness it and I'm not declaring a giggle happened without me there). Louis coos and talks and smiles so much now...it literally melts my heart every time. I've got the "ticka ticka ticka" thing down pretty good, where I tickle him all over while being really loud and making him squirm and smile. It's the best.
Louis is INFATUATED with his daddy. I find it endearing and I'm insanely jealous at the same time. I know I shouldn't be...but it's hard not to. I'm his Mommy for gosh sakes! Bennett can just be in the room, not even paying attention to Louis and our little guy will be staring at him and smiling as if Bennett is the funniest and most interesting person alive. Come on now, I'm the funniest and most interesting person! :) There is apparently a lot this kid has to learn...haha.
Another thing that Louis has MASTERED is the pouty face. I always thought that sticking your lip out was a learned thing but it clearly is not. When he has decided that he’s not happy, Louis sticks that little lip out and lets you know. It half-way breaks your heart and half-way makes you laugh. It is really cute…in a weird way. Bennett tried his hardest to capture this in a photo and I think we’ve finally got it!
Does that make up for my lack of posting? Or maybe I can post a video tomorrow of little Lou being super cute. I’ll do better with this! I swear!
