Wild & Wanderful

In a nutshell…

Sorry we’ve been absent on here – we’ve been busy!! :)  I thought I’d recap our summer festivities with some photos of our adventures.

We’ve spent A LOT of our time outdoors lately, despite the weather sometimes being so unbearably hot that all we do is sweat.  Haha.  {Side note: we finally broke down and installed an air conditioner in our living room.  It took us TWO hours to put in a window unit because the window we wanted to use was painted shut from the outside and only reachable by standing on the top of a ladder in the least sturdiest manner.}

I don’t think we’ve had quite enough time with David, Meredith, Davey & Annie but we have had a few chances to get the families together for some food and fun.  Louis certainly adores his cousins and I think it’s pretty apparent in these pictures how sweet they are together.

Mid-June, we headed north to the Mitten State to help celebrate my Nana’s 80th birthday.  It was awesome and REALLY hard to leave once our time was up.  The first part of the trip was spent with my Dad & the Boltze clan in Cadillac.  MaKale showed his nephew how to properly drive over everything {dog poop included!} with his new hot wheels.  It was a terrible time trying to pry Louis away from that darn truck.  I’m just glad that he’s still too young to beg for things like that…because I’m sure we would have never heard the end of it.

Next stop was in Traverse City, where the Brockway clan congregated.  This trip consisted of almost 700 pictures from the entire time – so there is absolutely no way I would be able to share all of them on here.  I got to see some of my cousins (and their children) that I haven’t seen in too many years to even count how long.  It was great to do more than talking via the internet with them and their kiddos are adorable.

Might I add that it’s nice to have a husband who is a photographer and a good sport all at the same time?  I told him he was “on the job” during Nana’s birthday party and he apparently took me very seriously.  The pictures he captured were wonderful and I really think everyone appreciated it.  Me especially.  :)

Oh hi there, most adorable boy in the entire world!  How are things going with you? :)  Seriously – I understand that I am his mother but I am so in love with that face.  He’s so expressive and hilarious and dramatic.  I love every second of him.

Bennett is trying to teach me how to be a better photographer.  Let me tell you – it ain’t easy. :)  I seem to have the most trouble with focus.  I have this grand idea in my head and then the camera doesn’t do what I want it.  *sigh.  I did kind of like this picture that we took of our wedding rings on a flower that Bennett grew for us.  Pretty, right?

We’ve spent a good bit of time with the Peters couple this summer…along with their little dog Puff.  I think Louis would give up all of of the toys in the world just to have Puff by his side at all times.  He adores that little rascal.

July 4th was super hot and pretty fabulous.  We had a few friends stop by for some barbequing and fireworks.  In true Bennett form, he bought way more fireworks than he should have (according to my standards of sparklers only, haha).  The food was to-die-for.  Our friends brought over some ribs with their homemade barbeque sauce.  Delish!!

You know those friends that only use you for the redneck pool that you have set up in your backyard?  Oh…you have some too? :)  Meet Brittany & Eddie Peters.  They stopped spending as much time with us once our dog popped our hillbilly pool.  Correlation?  I think so!!

Okay…I think I might have covered most of the time in which I haven’t been blogging.  Well – I guess I did turn another year older (27, eek!) but we didn’t take any pictures memorializing that day in our lives.  Haha.  I don’t think there was a reason…it just happened that way.  We literally take a picture of everything else.  Stranger things have happened, I’m sure.
