Wild & Wanderful

Bride & Groom Dolls

Katy McKinleyComment

Oh boy, have I been waiting and waiting and waiting to show everyone this.  Remember when I made the look-a-like doll of my father-in-law for Christmas {here}?  Well…I did it again.

My amazing friends Andy & Amanda are getting married at the end of April.  I am so stinking excited for those two.  Seriously.  They’re adorable and sweet and funny.  And crazy in love.  I remember when Andy told me that he was going to propose.  And I’ve basically begged them a million times to start having babies already.  I suppose I can wait until the wedding is over….but then babies are required!

Have I mentioned that we are also honored to have been selected as their wedding day photographers?  I love shooting weddings!  It’s a backstage pass to the biggest day of people’s lives.  And I pretty much cry every single time.  I love love, a whole lot.

Anyway, I’d found {this} pattern from an Etsy vendor and worked from it to create two different dolls to represent my very dear friends.  I’m thinking Amanda’s dress will be much fancier than my version but I came as close as my sewing skills (or lack thereof) would allow.

Aren’t they darling?  Yarn hair has been my toughest battle so far but I winged it to the best of my Katy-abilities.  I’m only sharing them now because I got a text from Amanda this morning that she’d received my package and has seen them already.  I was dying over their cuteness and am glad that I can now put it out there in the bloggy world.

Only ten more days until these lovebirds say their I-Do’s.  Can’t wait!
