Wild & Wanderful

MMitA, a catch-up.

Holy crap have these last few days taken me by storm.
Excuse me for a minute while I get my head to stop spinning.

Something wonderful has been happening around our house, more wonderful than our normal wonderfuls: Bennett’s photography is taking flight.  His ‘Meet Me in the Alley’ photography project has taken a life of it’s own and is growing and gaining attention by the day.  It’s really amazing to see him finally recognized on a larger scale for his skills.  I’m really proud of him.

I had to laugh, though.  I’ve been glued to my phone for three (almost four!) years now because of Handmade Escapade.  Like…way more than I ever want to be.  Emails, Facebook messages, orders, Instagram, blogging, etc. has been a big part of my life and attention.  I’ve mentioned many times that I continue to struggle to maintain balance but it’s just a part of my life.  I feel like I’m always needed and there’s always someone I’m supposed to be responding to.  I don’t think Bennett understood until this last week.

His phone has been buzzing with emails and messages like crazy.  Which is good.  But can be so distracting and overwhelming…especially at first.  He said to me: “Is this what your life is like?!”  Haha.  Yes, yes it is.  I have no doubts that he will find his flow just like I did.  He will probably do it better and faster than I did too.

Here are the latest photographs from the series that have been published so far:

Bennett has this AMAZING plan brewing for a gallery showing of all of these photos once he’s taken enough portraits.  I’m really excited to see how it all works out in the end, so far the photos have been wonderful and it’s been a really great way to showcase the amazing people that make up our community.

If you want to be a part of the project and have your portrait taken…by all means, do it!  There’s no charge and he will send you one/two high resolution files for your use.  Plus, you get to be a part of something fun in Downtown Wheeling.  Email him if you’re interested: bennett@mckinley-photography.net
