Wild & Wanderful

Off the Shoulder Peplum by EYMM

AH!  Right before the craziness of holiday orders hit me, I got to do a bunch of sewing for myself.  And I freaking loved every second of it.  I'm practically a fangirl for every indie pattern designer online right now...and when one of them puts out a call for pattern testers (if I have time) I apply.  Kymy from EYMM said the word "peplum" and I jumped.  I've purchased a couple of her patterns now and even blogged about her Calla Lily skirt pattern.  Which I adore.

Kymy was about to release her Off-the-Shoulder Dress and Peplum for the Sew Fab Bundle and I was more than happy to be included in the group of amazing women who were also testing for her.  It's such an inspiring process.  I feel like I take away so much more than a new piece of clothing...which is why I love being a tester so much.  Anywho.  To the pattern itself.

The 'Off the Shoulder Dress & Peplum Top' is a simple and modern top and dress with an inviting neckline finish.  The upper an dmid sleeves are fitted, with a looser, open wrist and a longer length.  Unlike many cowls that have unfinished edges, this cowl neck is completely finished.  The dress has two lengths, two sleeve lengths and two bodice length options.  Plus, the peplum top looks great with jeans or slacks.  You can use a variety of knit fabrics and also a variety of woven fabrics for the gathered skirt option.  Dress it up or down with you fabric choices!  The women's version comes in TEN sizes from misses XS to plus size 5X.  Wowza.

I have this super love for peplums.  On everyone else's body.  Not mine.  But I went for it and tried the peplum.  And I love it.  LOVE it.  I am a curvy gal with a big chest and this didn't make me look like an Oompa Loompa when I put it on.  Winner winner, chicken dinner.  For real.

I followed everything with this pattern to a T, with the exception of the length of the peplum.  It's a tad shorter than it should be.  But only because I decided to use this fabric from my stash and didn't have enough.  So I squeeeeezed what I could out of it and the only thing that was shorted (literally) was the peplum length.  It should be an inch or more longer.

The fabrics that I chose are both amazing and beautiful and of course from Girl Charlee.

I have a giant crush on the navy/coral buffalo plaid (found HERE).  Even though they weren't a perfect match, I think they look wonderful together...the second fabric I used was this Coral/Peach floral number (found HERE).  Get them both.  You know you want to.

Right now, this pattern is a part of the Sew Fab Bundle only.  It is available with NINE other fabulous brand spankin' new women's patterns, bundled together at a steal for $29.95.  But you have to act fast to get them all together like this, as the bundle is only available through January 15.

I guarantee EYMM is going to be releasing this pattern as a stand-alone soon.  But I just don't know when.  So you might want to keep your eyes peeled.
