Sunday Lately :: Week 42

Oct 18, 2015

We had a pumpkin party at our house last night, and I was up waaaaay past my bedtime, but I rolled myself out of bed so I wouldn’t miss out on Sunday Lately.  (Dedication, right?)  So let’s get going with this!!

This week’s themes: Doing, Appreciating, Designing, Humming, Expecting

Doing. Lots of happy dances because Handmade Escapade just turned 5 years old on Thursday.  It’s hard to imagine what life was like before all of the chaos.  Running a handmade business isn’t easy.  At all.  But it’s been super rewarding and I’m thankful every day that I’ve found my niche.

Appreciating. Everyone that came out to our house last night to get their carve on!  We had 30-ish people in our house (kids included!!) carving pumpkins, eating all the foods, and drinking lots of yummy brews.  It was a blast and a half.  I’m excited to go through the photos and get them edited.

Designing. New ways to combine the things I love.  I made a crocheted sleeve for a raglan shirt of mine and I’m crushing hard on it.  In fact, I think I broke the internet a little bit when I shared it.  I saw a picture online this week that had a grannysquare-type crocheted sleeve, only on one side, and then it was finished into a full sweater.  I wanted to make one so badly…and so I did.  And I super love it, plus want to make like 10,000 more.  Can a girl have too many crocheted/sewn items?  Um.  No.

Humming. “I’m in Love with a Monster“.  Have you heard this song yet?  It’s from the soundtrack of Hotel Transylvania 2 and Louis loves jamming out to it.  But then, what doesn’t Louis love to jam to?  You should have seen him tearing up the dance/livingroom floor last night!  He was killing it!

Expecting. To give my new nephew 10,000 kisses, and then 10,000 more when I finally get to meet him.  Lincoln is gorgeous, and HUGE.  Kiddo is almost 9lbs at birth.  Apparently my sister gave birth to a 6-month old.  The good news is that everyone is healthy and well…and although Lincoln will be in the NICU for a little while (precautionary stuff only), they’ll hopefully be able to go home soon and enjoy life as a family of four.  I’m also insanely jealous of how she’s able to produce children with SO MUCH HAIR!  Louis was practically bald until he turned two.  No fair!

Disclosure: As always, you’ll find some affiliate links scattered within my post, which means I receive a small amount of compensation if you end up purchasing something I’ve recommended.  Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!
