:: excuse me while I go sob in a corner ::
My baby’s last day of school was today. His last day of Preschool. How has this happened? While we are so incredibly proud of him, it still is unbelievable that in a few short months, kiddo will be in Kindergarten…attending class full days and eating lunch without us. It’s all happening so fast.
This has been a huge growing year for Louis. Not only in size (because he outgrew his pants like three months into the new school year) but also in maturity. We’ve continued to see a difference in how he handles himself with his peers and in social environments.
Louis has always been a very emotional child. He feels everything. Everything is his “favorite thing ever” or “the best day ever” but he’s been able to keep it in check a little more. It’s been fun to watch his emotional maturity develop. We’ve also watched our sweet little one create real friendships. Not just ones that we introduce, but friends that he’s made at school and then hung out with outside of the classroom. It’s brilliant to witness.
We started the school year by knowing how to only spell his name. Now Louis can read, write and spell SO MANY words. We can’t go anywhere without him reading signs and contextually figuring out what they say. His brain is always working a thousand miles a minute and his eagerness to learn has not dwindled in the slightest.
We couldn’t be prouder of this young man that we see developing right before our very eyes. (But I’m still allowed to get a little sappy when it comes to watching my teeny baby become a youth.)
Happy Last Day of School, sweet thing. Momma and Daddy couldn’t be prouder of you.
