Fabric for Pirates :: January 2024 Reveal

Jan 15, 2024

Happy 15th of the month, y’all! Broken record here, about to tell you that I’m thrilled the day has finally come that I get to share my Fabric for Pirates shipment from this month! I feel like we kicked off the new year with a doozy of a fabric and I’m excited to see what you think of it!

We sent this absolute stunner of a cabled knit, in this color that I’m calling “ice blue”, and it’s seriously so pretty. I put my top on as soon as I finished sewing it and was in love with how the color looked on me. I didn’t know I needed it in my life, but now I’m going to seek out more of this blue tone.

Because if something makes you feel good about yourself, it’s okay to seek out those feelings more. And I will be doing exactly that!

What did we send and what did I make? Obviously I can’t wait to tell you more!

Fabric Details: Cabled Sweater Knit

  • Width: 58/59″
  • GSM: 190.00

Pattern Details: Tie Up Top by Patterns for Pirates

  • Fitted, long sleeves w/cuffs
  • Scoop neckline
  • Adjustments made: added 1″ for side waist height

I’ve made a couple versions of the Tie Up Top before, but this is the first time I’ve used the crop with the long ties. I totally get why people love this version. It’s SO CUTE.

I tried to take indoor photos with my studio light (sans photography studio backdrop) so I really struggled getting the lighting to stay even for me. But listen. I was NOT about to go outside and freeze my buns off for photos. All in all, I think they turned out okay. I just need a little more practice, obviously.

Winter has officially landed in Wheeling and I’m doing all I can to avoid standing outside for a photo sesh. I just am not tough enough anymore. All of my Michigander has been wiped from my body after being a West Virginian for so long. I’m not sure I’d survive winter up North if I attempted it. (Sorry Michigan roots…I’ve failed you.)

The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!
