Happy Fabric Reveal Day, y’all! I am OVER THE MOON about this month’s fabric and I’m so excited to share it with you. AHHHHHH!!
Cherries, y’all! We sent out a cherry fabric! I am so smitten with it I might explode!
Let me tell you that selecting fabric to send to hundreds of people each month is super hard. And it’s extra hard when you’re trying to send things that aren’t only solid colors, but are a print that a decent majority would enjoy. Prints are SO HARD to choose for other people. Honestly, it’s hard to choose a print that Judy and I will agree on, ha. She’s very different than I am in taste and somehow we were both like “WE NEED THIS” when we saw it. One of the easiest decisions between the two of us so far!
I don’t know if you know this about me, but I was born and raised in northern Michigan. And for a year, I lived in Traverse City with Bennett and my baby sis (who is a 35-year old mom of 2….still my baby sis). Traverse is the Cherry Capital of the World, since it’s such a hotspot for cherry production. Growing up, we used to head north for the Cherry Festival often. And I’m super excited to be heading back to the area for a family reunion soon!! It’ll be a little early for cherry picking/eating season, but not at all early for cherry dress wearing season!
I am 100% bringing my new dress with me! It’d be a crime if I didn’t!
So let’s talk fabric + pattern choices!
Fabric Details: Cotton Spandex
Width: 58/60 GSM: 170
Content: 96% Cotton 4% Spandex
We haven’t yet sent out this fabric base, but it’s a super common one! Cotton spandex can be kind of difficult to mix into my wardrobe because it tends to sit on the stiffer/heavier side of things. I mostly want a fabric with drape and movement and cotton spandex doesn’t always give me what I want.
We were happy that we could find a lighter weight cotton spandex for this shipment! Not only is it super stretchy and has a great recovery, but the fabric also could totally be used for a tee or something that I wouldn’t typically make with a c/s base. Of course, I didn’t make a tee though. It’s summertime, y’all. I want alllllll the summer dresses!
Pattern Details: Harriet Holiday Dress
Short Sleeve, Mini Length
Added 1″ to side waist for typical height adjustments.
I am SO LOVING this retro-vibe cherry print with the sweetheart neckline of the Harriet Holiday Dress! Isn’t it perfect together?

Before I go, I MUST talk about this flashback photo! This is me, as a wee 17-year old girl, just after my senior awards assembly. 21 years ago. Woof. Time flies, doesn’t it?
I used to LOVE this cherry dress of mine. I wore it all the time, even through college and beyond. It’s since been retired…I vaguely remember stapling the strap back onto it while I was at work one day and I’m sure that’s when I decided it was time to let it go. Lucky for me, I now have a replacement! Completely staple free, too!
