Halloween Cat | Crochet Hat Pattern {free!}

Sep 5, 2013

I’ve been meaning to share a crochet pattern for a while now.  But I kept chickening out because….well, because of a lot of reasons.  I’ve never used a pattern for my own things.  I just make it up as I go along.  And somehow hope that I remember how to do it the second time around.  So writing it down is nerve wracking and nearly impossible for an anti-pattern girl like me.

But I also thought it might be fun to try.  To put myself out there and see how it goes.  If you do make a hat from my pattern, please share it with me via email (hello@wildandwanderful.com) or on my Facebook page.  I’d love to see what you come up with!  Please feel free to ask any questions that I might be able to answer for you…as I’m sure there are some wonky parts, being my first time and all!

***You’re more than welcome to sell finished products from this pattern.  I only ask that you give me credit and link back to this pattern.  Please play nice and don’t claim the pattern or photos as your own.

    Amazing pattern! Love that it comes in a lot of sizes (because I would totally rock a pink or teal version). Thanks for sharing!

      Where do you attach the ears?

        I just fold the hat in half and whipstitch the ears on with a large eyed needle into the place that looks visually the best to me.

    I’m a beginner so could you advise on how to attach the ears and braids?

      Hi Gretchen! I just fold the hat in half and whipstitch the ears on with a large eyed needle into the place that looks visually the best to me. And the braids are just a length of yarn folded in half and looped through a spot on the lower ear flap, then braided together.
