If you follow me on Instagram, you would know by now that it’s another #summerwithoutpants. Which means I go all summer long wearing only skirts and dresses…which also means I need lots of skirts and dresses to wear. I’ve been sewing up a storm lately and I’ve been bored with the same ole’ style I’ve been doing.
Pattern Revolution’s Bundle Up for women was exactly what I needed and I snatched up a bunch of the patterns. I love me a good indie sewing pattern because you’re supporting small businesses (like me!) and it’s usually been reviewed a million times by real people so you get to decide 100% if that pattern is for you or not. The pictures of this Calla Lily skirt by EYMM had me sold.
I love everything about it. It sewed up super, crazy fast. It fits really well. It’s flattering and comfortable. And I love the drape of the skirt. I’ve never been super sold on the high/low style of skirts but I think this might have changed my mind. I freaking love it.
We were heading to the Wheeling Arts Festival today so I thought it was fitting to wear a handmade skirt and then couldn’t resist making the “Sewing is my Cardio” tee. I mean.
(I’ve had a few requests for my shirt so I thought I’d make it available to everyone else. It’s now in my shop here: Sewing is My Cardio.)
I’m still learning how to “work it” for the camera with these clothing shots. I do believe I need to do about a million more hours of studying the big dogs and how they pose. For now you’re going to have to deal with these. 🙂
A photo session isn’t complete without Louis jumping in on the fun. Letting your toddler know that you’re controlling the camera by remote is a dangerous thing. He was all about it. He was also all about making my already awkward self-portrait session even more ridiculous, as he was climbing under my skirt. *sigh
Anyway. The skirt is awesome. I received a ton of compliments on it (and that was BEFORE they heard I’d made it myself) and I felt covered, comfortable and I’m ready to fabric shop for more fabric so I can make like a million more.
Because that’s just the kind of girl I am.
Work it girl! I love that tee shirt too.
I actually thought of you as I wore it today. 🙂
YESSSS!!!! Millions more so I can also support indie businesses.
I'm pretty sure that this pattern allows for cottage based sewing/sales. I think we could work out an arrangement. 😉
