JK3 Valentine Party

Feb 14, 2015

We are lucky that Louis is still young enough that parents get invited to school and classroom parties.  Because I adore it.  Yesterday, we got to be a part of his class’ Valentine’s Day Party and it was super cute…and super fun.  It’s also nice to get to put faces with the names of all of the kids Louis is talking about.  And meet/chat with other parents.  Basically it’s an all-around win for us.

Bennett and I volunteered/were volunteered to help with the craft stations.  Bennett helped all of the kiddos make beaded heart necklaces and I got to help them make stained glass-ish hearts with contact paper and tissue paper bits.  It was super cute and I loved working that station.

They also got to make Valentine’s bags at the next station over, to collect the cards/treats from their classmates in.  I love that Lou’s frog is missing an eye.  Or maybe Mr. Frog is just winking at us?  Who knows.

After the crafts, a story and some snacks, the kiddos got to hand out their Valentine’s to their friends.  It was a little bit of chaos but it was cute to see them all so excited to put their respective Valentine’s in the newly made bags.

We went the non-candy route this time around and gave everyone a superhero mask that I sewed up the night before.  I know, I know.  I should probably do things earlier than twelve hours before the party starts.  We had a busy week!  I luckily had some fun fabrics laying around that worked out for the masks and I think they were such a cute gift for all of the little ones.

Happy Valentine’s Day!  You ARE pretty super!

Those masks are super-adorable! I love that instead of candy. I have such a bad habit of waiting until the last minute, too. It was way worse when I was younger and in school.

You should see how much candy he got in his bags. We haven't even touched half of it…and that's with him sharing it / me stealing some. Ha! I was hoping to come up with a way to give out a non-candy Valentine in a non-lame way.
