#NYCBigBold

Mar 3, 2015

When I get emails from Influenster telling me that I have a VoxBox coming my way, I get way more excited than a person should.  I get even more excited when I read on to see that it’s going to be makeup.  Wahoo!  What girl wouldn’t love getting some new facepaint in the mail?

I was sent two products, both from New York Color Cosmetics: NYC Big Bold Angel Lash Mascara and NYC Big Bold & Precise Felt Tip Liner.  I’m not mad that these items were sent my way.  Not at all.

Admittedly, I was a little nervous about the liner.  I haven’t worn eyeliner since college and back then I used to be a little more raccoon-like than I should have been.  But hey, we’ve all gone there with eyeliner, right?  Right?

I used to also wear a lot of glitter on my eyes back in high school too.  So there have been some makeup mishaps that I will never return to.  God help us all.

Things that I really liked about these two products:
  — the liner has a solid, felt tip.  It wasn’t impossible to put on like I remember so many of my old ones being.  I didn’t smudge the crap out of my eyes.  And the tip was beveled so I could make it as heavy or light as I wanted.  I stuck with light.
  — the mascara is great.  It wasn’t super chunky.  It was light.  It stayed on all day without flaking.  And it was a good, bold black that helped make my eyes pop a little more.

As you can see, I stayed raccoon free.  Woot!  I actually have been wearing eyeliner (THIS eyeliner too!) since the day it came in the mail.  I’m back on the eyeliner train, people!  I like the subtle definition it gives my eyes.  Especially since I’m really a makeup minimalist and don’t wear much beyond shadow, mascara and a bright red lip from time to time.

So yeah, NYC.  You’ve got me.  Hook, line, and sinker.  Well played.

Disclaimer: I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.
While I do love free stuff, but that doesn’t stop me from giving an honest review.  All opinions are my own.  Pinkie swear.

I totally wanted the makeup VoxBox because um hello, that all looks amazing! I was going to try the Benefit liner with the beveled tip, but it's so expensive. When I run out of black liquid liner, I must try that one. I have oily skin like woah, so anything that doesn't contribute to my inevitable racoon eyes is a must.

I was super excited just to get anything. i never know how they fully select people for these boxes. But I was especially excited for it to be makeup because i tend to not branch out too much.

I have no idea either. I was just selected for a hair box and that is the category of "beauty stuff" that I pay the least amount of attention to!
