Sunday Lately :: Week 18

May 3, 2015

AngelicaMeghan and I are all challenging ourselves to blog every day during the month of May.  We are hoping you can join in too!
Today’s themes: Dwelling, Helping, Forgetting, Switching, Relying.

Dwelling. On the fact that Louis only has two more weeks of school until his summer vacation.  TWO.  FREAKING.  WEEKS.  And then he’s officially finished with his first year of school.  (Excuse me while I go cry in a corner.)  I can’t believe it.  Next year will be his first year of 5-days-a-week school, but we are still choosing to do half-days with him.

Helping. Louis and Bennett indulge in their super-nerd sides and went to a local hobby store for Free Comic Book Day.  Lou was extra excited to get his hands on a Teen Titans Go! comic…as it happens to be his favorite show at the moment.  So funny that it is, too.  Because our family is more of a Marvel family and Teen Titans is DC.  I’m wondering if this will slowly bring us into the DC world as well.

Forgetting. How freaking amazing morel mushrooms taste.  YUMMO.  We used to hunt for morels when I was a kid around our house in Michigan and I honestly had no idea that West Virginia had them until a few years ago.  When Bennett accidentally found some outside our front door.  The morels here are HUGE compared to the ones of my childhood, but equally as tasty.  We fried them up as soon as we got back indoors.

Switching. Up my nightly schedule to include blogging.  It’s only been three days, but blogging on a daily basis takes some extra planning and effort.  I can’t imagine what it’s like to be a blogger that relies on blogging for a monetary support.  The pressure!

Relying. On my lack of responsibilities this weekend to get me back on track.  These last few weeks have been cray.  And full of moving and shaking and things to get done.  This weekend, at least so far, has been relaxed and fun and more of a “we do what we want because we’ve randomly decided we want to”.  My kind of speed again.  We’ve slept in.  We’ve had late breakfasts.  We’ve gone for multiple walks in the woods.  We’ve had dinner out and drank a few beers.  It’s been excellent and I’m looking forward to being refreshed enough to take on my workload on Monday without added stressors.

What’s been up with you lately?

Disclosure: As always, you’ll find some affiliate links scattered within my post, which means I receive a small amount of compensation if you end up purchasing something I’ve recommended.  Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!

    Your weekend sounds amazing! I love having a day to just relax and not worry about anything. Also, Louis's puppy toy is awesome!

    Haha. Oh my gosh. His name is Buster and he's been in the family for a couple of years now. We used to be able to use him just for a cuddle buddy at nights…but somewhat recently, he decided Buster needed to go everywhere with us again. So we lug that dog everywhere. As well as that stuffed bone that I made for "Buster's birthday" a few months ago. This kid of mine.
