“Mama Chloe” High-Low Skirt :: Pattern Hack Tutorial

Jun 8, 2017

Happy almost-Friday, friends!  I’m helping you get through to the end of the week by giving you this super simple high-low skirt hack, using the Made for Mermaids Mama Chloe skirt.  The pattern itself is FABULOUS and….if you join the Facebook group, you can find a code that gets you both the girls and women’s versions for free!

I was sent a yard of this gorgeous “Clementine” fabric from K’s Closet and decided that it needed to be a skirt.  But seriously…I cannot wear maxis.  No matter how cute they are on other people, I feel like they’re too long on me.  And I get SO HOT in long skirts too!  (I have issues getting dressed, you guys.)

But I’m not completely against long skirts, as long as they’re not long everywhere.  Which is where this simple little pattern hack comes into play.

You’ll need to print the full length of the Mama Chloe skirt and cut it out.  And then determine a point between where you want your front and back to meet up on the side seams.  I chose to go as close to the halfway point as I could.

Then, all you do is cut a curved line from one point to the other.  Easy as that!
Sew up your side seams, attach the waistband, and hem your new skirt and you’re ready to rock.

I’m quite fond of my new cutie.  And I’m pretty sure there are going to be a few more skirts like this in my closet, too!  Quickest skirt ever?  Yes please!
