Sunday Lately :: Week 153

Dec 3, 2017

Sunday Lately is a weekly linkup hosted by the Blogger Tribe, which is fearlessly led by Angelica (Gardening in High Heels) and myself. We e-hangout every Sunday, sharing a small glimpse into the past week of life in our own worlds. We’d love if you could join us!

This week’s themes: Browsing, Moving, Practicing, Racing, Soothing.

Browsing. Amazon and Target and Etsy and trying to pull inspiration for Christmas gifts.  Because holy shit, it’s December.

Moving. At a much faster pace than normal, because I have to.  Taking a week off for Thanksgiving is wonderful, until I get home and realize how much work I have to do.  Black Friday sales were great for business, but I had to do a lot of overtime to get things finished!  Whew.  Good thing my boss lets me drink on the job.  (She’s a hardass but generally pretty lax about other things, haha.)

Practicing. My Star Wars + sewing skills and knocked out one of my favorite pieces to-date.  I created Lou’s new winter jacket by making him a Boba Fett-esque jacket to rock all season long.  I’m dead over it.  It’s so cute.  I want one for myself.

Racing. Into JoAnns this week to use up all of my coupons on things I’ve been eyeballing for a while.  Like this ridiculously large cutting mat that I scored for only $28.  Woot!

Soothing. My obsessive love for Christmas music by turning up the tunes!  December 1st was my official listening day — I told myself I needed to wait this year.  But now that it’s here, *NSync’s Christmas album will be played 23094823098423908423408 times until Christmas day.  Yaaaaaas.

Disclosure: As always, you’ll find some affiliate links scattered within my post, which means I receive a small amount of compensation if you end up purchasing something I’ve recommended.  Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!

    I’m impressed you waited until Dec 1st for the music! I did better this year, and held on until Nov 12th…but usually I’m busting out the Christmas albums by July!!! #dedicated lol

    It’s been too warm outside for me to really get into the Christmas
    spirit. The days seem to fly by and I’m never quite prepared like I
    used to be! July? Haha. That IS some dedication!

    That jacket! WOW! Love it! My sewing goal for 2018 is to create more ‘original’ items (like your jacket) – maybe even try quilting! Oh, and I LOVE Christmas music, too – it makes me happy! Merry Christmas!

      I love the idea of making quilts but I know my limitations…I have Makers A.D.D. If it takes longer than a day or two, I probably will set it aside to make something else and never get back to it. But I do drool over all of the quilts that i see in my IG newsfeed all the time!
