Monaluna Journey Fabric Tour

Mar 13, 2018

I’d like to consider myself a pretty darn lucky gal, because I was asked to be on my third tour with Monaluna Fabrics.  Third!  How fun is that?  This time around, we are helping to showcase their new line of prints, called “Journey”.  They all have a very Arizona, desert, painted feel and are stunning.

The second I saw the coyote print, I was all “GIMME! GIMME!”  My high school mascot was the Coyotes (CUJO pride!) and I couldn’t help but be drawn in by the nostalgia.

I’d also like to take the time to introduce everyone how to properly  pronounce the word coyote.  Two syllables, not three.

Kai-Oat.

None of the kai-oh-tee crap.  Two syllables, friends.  That’s it.  I appreciate you all pronouncing it properly from here on out.  The entire teeny town of Reed City, Michigan will back me on this.

Now, I know you’re looking at me and thinking, “Really, Katy?  Pillowcase covers?”  But hear me out!  First….I found these fabulously large pillows at IKEA for a steal of a price.  So clearly I impulse purchased them.  I have this secret desire to be cool like my friend Megan Thoman and have a pretty sofa with adorable pillows thrown all over it.  I’ll probably never get there because our couch is old and ugly and everything in our house is always covered in dog hair.  BUT, it’s a start with these cute pillows!

I can not even come close to being a quilter or someone who is good at patchwork, but darn if I don’t wish I were.  Because creating the above pillow with the mixture of Coyote Moon, Birdseed Blue, and Paintbrush in the poplin fabric base was so much fun!  Aren’t those coyotes adorable?!?!

I wanted a second pillow with a little different look to it.  I was obsessed with the idea of giving my coyotes a moon.  A little abstract but I’m happy with my moon for the coyotes to howl to.

Aren’t the prints just wonderful?  I am a sucker for waterbrush designs and these totally fit the bill.

Thank you so much to Gemia from Phat Quarters for leading this tour, yet again!  She’s probably one of the sweetest ladies out there in this wild sewing world.  AND, she totally got to be on Project Run & Play this year!  Make sure to stop by and give her makes a vote when they post.  I seriously cannot wait to see what she does!

Pretty please with cherries on top, DO NOT miss out on the rest of the brilliant women on this tour!  They seriously all blew me away with their skills.  I’m not worthy!  I’m not worthy!

Disclosure: As always, you’ll find some affiliate links scattered within my post, which means I receive a small amount of compensation if you end up purchasing something I’ve recommended.  Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!

I love that you created a moon for your Kai-oats. LOL! I use both so I guess it’s all good!
