In case you didn’t know, I’m a huge nerd for Halloween. But not in the scary, dark sense…completely in the spooky, cutesty version. I have an entire Halloween wardrobe that I pull out every October, and continue to add to. And this new Boo Crew Applique Sweater is the first newbie from the 2025 season to make it to that collection.

I fell in love so much with my new sweater that I felt like you needed one too. And since I have a job that requires me to work, instead of just making fun things for people, I can’t make one for you — but I can provide the tools and a little hand holding so you can make your own!
Supplies you’ll need to make this sweater:
- A sweater! (who knew?) I used the Homecoming Hoodie pattern and sewed my own. It would also look super cute on this crewneck sweatshirt.
- Sublimating your own fabric? I used these microfiber sheets from Target!
- Fabric for ghosts (each ghost, unsewn, is about 4.5″w x 6″tall)
- Tear-away stabilizer, for backing your applique work
- Embroidery Floss / Buttons, for the ghost eyes
- Boo Crew applique downloads (enter your info in the form below, and they’ll be emailed to you!)

In my freebie download, I provided:
- Sublimation files (for printing your own ghost fabric at home)
- Applique pattern piece (for using pre-made fabrics you already own)
While I didn’t show you how to do the applique process, I did make you a quick video that shows how I go about prepping my ghosts before stitching them down. It’s one of my favorite tricks to get a clean edge on your pieces, especially when the pieces are a little funky and not a perfect circle / square.
Here’s some quick pics of the sweater I made for myself. If you can’t tell from my photos, I absolutely ADORE this Boo Crew Sweater! I can’t wait to wear it this Halloween season!
I hope you end up making something with these freebies. And if you do, I hope even more that you share it with me! Tag me if you do #wildandwanderfulblog (@wildandwanderfulblog on Instagram) so I can see!! I love sharing in your joy of making!
