Remember last year when I made Louis a winter jacket that looked like Poe Dameron’s rebel pilot suit? Well this year, I though we needed to stick with the Star Wars theme again and he’s got a brand new Boba Fett jacket! And I freaking love it.
Fun fact: Boba is one of Bennett’s favorite characters from the Stars Wars Universe. And while it’s not Lou’s favorite character, he was still super happy with his new jacket. “I don’t just like it Momma, I LOVE it!” So any victory with a very opinionated 7-year old is a good victory.
I used the P4P Lumberjack Shirt/Jacket as my base pattern and then made adjustments as I went through it. Obviously the detailing was mine, as well as little things like a zipper front and the knit cuffs and pockets.
I decided it would be easier/more recognizable to use Fett’s Mandalorian helmet as the inspiration for the jacket, rather than reproduce his armor. However, I added elements like the designs on the sleeve and back to up the look a little bit. I cheated this year and used an already quilted fabric for the main piece, and then lined it with super soft faux shearling (just like I used for Bennett’s jacket this year). It’s funny how I swore off shearling and then up and used it again almost instantly.
Pockets are essential to any jacket. Bennett keeps talking about the shearling lining on his pockets being so cozy and I figured Louis would like the same. It’s especially helpful when it’s chilly outside but you forgot to grab some gloves. That shearling is super warm!!
I’m currently working on some Boba Fett crocheted mittens and hat and this little Bounty Hunter will be finally ready for winter to hit. I’ve been feeling super guilty that he didn’t have a proper winter jacket and I’m glad that I was able to whip this up for him.

This is amazing!!! I definitely remember the Poe jacket- it was my first intro to you!! I would happily wear both of these! 😘
Oh thank you! The Poe jacket is one of my favorites…but I think this might actually top it. I think the quilted fabric is what wins it for me. 😉
You should do a series and sell the patterns…. 🤞🤞😍😍😘😘

AHH! Thank you! He gets a lot of compliments while he wears it, makes my little crafty heart grow a couple of sizes each time. 😉
