Sunday Lately :: Week 3

Jan 18, 2015

Hey guys!  Welcome back to Week 3 of Sunday Lately!  Don’t forget to add your link at the bottom!
This week’s themes: Dwelling, Helping, Forgetting, Switching, Relying

Dwelling: Upon the fact that I have a million things to do now that I’m home.  I’ve spent the last five days in Saint Lucia, soaking up the sun, drinking lots of booze and celebrating the marriage of my brother Billy to his new wife Meaghan.  Now that I’m back to reality, everything that I didn’t do while I was away is now looming over me.  I’ll make it work.  No worries.

Helping: Louis make up for lost time with me by cuddling and smooching him all morning.  Goodness I missed my boys at home.  We didn’t have the opportunity to fly both Bennett and myself out to St. Lucia, so he stayed home with Louis.  This is the longest I’ve ever been away from them and FaceTime is an amazing tool to have available but it’s not the same as seeing them in person.  I swear Louis grew in the time I was gone.  That’s it.  I’m never leaving him again.

Forgetting: Or trying to forget the stressors involved in international travel.  The airport on the island was CRAZY.  There were “gates” but they were really only doors that lead to outside with numbers over top of them.  Getting through security was easy but having to sit in a hot, crowded, stuffy airport in a foreign land wasn’t super awesome.  And once we flew and landed in US territory, the customs through there was crazy too.  So many processes that didn’t seem to really be verifying much about my travels and things I had/didn’t have with me.  (For the record, I only had a seashell or two for Lou.  But still.)

Switching: From “island time” to reality.  It’s only been half of a day, but man is it different to have an actual idea of what time of day it is.  I feel like I lost time when I was in St. Lucia.  We were basically just drinking, eating and being taken care of all day long.  Rough life, I know.  It’s weird to now have clocks surrounding me and a phone that actually has a working signal.

Relying: On caffeine to keep me going today.  I’m a wuss.  I can’t handle big days of travel anymore.  Coffee and I will be besties today.

    I literally never travel anywhere like St. Lucia. Because I'm apparently geographically challenged, I didn't even know before I went there that it was only an hour different in time. Made communicating with the kiddo and hubby so much easier!

    Oh to spend a little time on an island. I could get with that for sure.
