Penguin Hat :: Free Crochet Pattern (All Sizes!)

Jan 3, 2017

It’s probably been too long since I’ve shared a crochet pattern on here…so I thought I’d change that.  During the cooler months, all I seem to want to do is crochet and I thought it’d be fun to share a super easy pattern with you guys.  So here’s a cute little penguin for your head.  AND, I wrote it out for sizes newborn – adult, so you can make one for any size head you want!

Are you ready to crochet up this cutie?
**Remember, you’re more than welcome to sell finished products from this pattern.  I only ask that you give me credit and link back to this pattern.  Please play nice and don’t claim the pattern or photos as your own.  If you do end up making a hat from my pattern, I’d love to see the results!  Link me to your blog, email me a photo (katy@threadandgrain.com), share it on Instagram @mckinleykaty or post it to my Facebook page.  I want to see what you can do!!

I am a big fan of attaching the extra pieces using Fabri-Tac glue.  It’s quick to dry, works fast, and holds really well.  You just have to be careful when applying it because it will stay wherever it falls.  You can also sew the pieces on with a tapestry needle and matching yarn…it just takes longer and I tend to take the lazy way out.

With the eyes, I like to overlap them slightly in the middle…rather than have them too far apart.  For some reason it screams penguin more to me that way.

And please, if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask!

Disclosure: As always, you’ll find some affiliate links scattered within my post, which means I receive a small amount of compensation if you end up purchasing something I’ve recommended.  Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!
