Sunday Lately :: Week 121

Apr 23, 2017

Sunday Lately is a weekly linkup hosted by the Blogger Tribe, which is fearlessly led by Angelica (Gardening in High Heels) and myself. We e-hangout every Sunday, sharing a small glimpse into the past week of life in our own worlds. We’d love if you could join us!

This week’s themes: Laughing, Suggesting, Reminding, Embracing, Creating

Laughing. At the amount of times we’ve spent down at the creek since the weather turned warmer.  It’s now our “thing” as a family.  We head down, wearing our rain boots, and work on the dam that we started building out of rocks.  Every time a big rain comes, we stop by the dam to see if we need to get back down there and work again.  It’s silly but it’s fun.  And it’s getting Louis, the pups, and the two of us out in the fresh air for hours at a time.  I’m loving it.

Suggesting. That everyone try Strawberry and Jalapeno infused waters.  SO GOOD.  I’ve given up diet soda (for the 20394830298th time in my life, haha) and am putting more water in my system.  Usually it’s harder on me because I just don’t like water that much.  But this time around, I went with having my fridge always stocked with infused water combos.  And it’s been a breeze!  Well…except that now I have to pee ten thousand times a day.

PS.  Before anyone gets ANY ideas.  No, I’m not pregnant.  I’m not trying.  I’m just drinking water instead of Diet Coke.  Calm down.

Reminding. Myself that the school year is coming to and end and I’m going to need to make adjustments.  And quickly.  Bennett will be taking summer classes, basically all summer long, and we don’t like to put Louis into too many camps because we like to let him just enjoy the freedom of summer.  But that means I’ll have him home with me while Bennett is at school and I’ll be working from here like usual.  So things might get a little wonky at times.  We will work it out.  There’s always just that damned adjustment period.

Embracing. The sewing community that I’ve found myself in.  Not that i haven’t before.  But I’m loving having friends on the blogging, pattern drafting, and fabric side of it all.  It’s neat to see how everything can work in perfect harmony.

Creating. A mess in my sewing space today as I try and get a couple of items done and photographed.  I have this idea to shoot some photos while I’m standing IN the creek.  Because the framing is just gorgeous and I’ve been wanting photos down there.  So why not do it?  I just hope I don’t act like a total doof and somehow drop my camera into the water, haha.  Fingers crossed.

Disclosure: As always, you’ll find some affiliate links scattered within my post, which means I receive a small amount of compensation if you end up purchasing something I’ve recommended.  Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!
