Create. Caffeinate. Repeat.

Apr 29, 2015

I love having talented friends.  I really do.   I especially love when I can totally mooch off of their talents and score some pretty amazing goodies.  Nicole is the other half of the Happily Ever Tees duo and is an AMAZING designer.  I’ve talked about her a few times already and, by george, I’m going to talk about her again!

The majority of my favorite things by Nicole are hand lettered and this “Create Caffeinate Repeat” tee is no exception.  You should probably RUN over to her shop and get one for yourself.  You won’t regret it!

I envy people who have a picture perfect workspace.  If I had the funds, I would actually hire someone to just follow me around and clean up my giant mess as I went along in the creative process.  I don’t take time to organize because I’d rather spend time making.  It’s just who I am.  I can’t help it.  I was going to take these photos outside but decided last minute that the best representation of this tee would be in my messy, messy studio.

I spend 50+ hours in here each week; printing shirts, answering emails, sewing orders, trying out new designs, weeding vinyl.  Everything.  The room is small but it’s cozy and everything is within close proximity of each other to make my entire process the most efficient that it can be for a single person team.

There are usually a ton of empty water glasses and coffee mugs all over the place as well.  But that’s neither here nor there.

The shirt itself is lovely.  It’s printed on a Bella/Canvas Favorite Tee.  Which is a super soft jersey tee that is also pretty fitted.  I love Bella shirts with exception of their sizing.  So plan to order a size larger than you normally wear and it’ll be golden.

PS.  Did you notice that I’m rocking a new lip color?  I received two different Rimmel London products by Kate Moss (mascara and lipstick) and I actually have both on today.  I tend to lean toward obnoxiously bold, super red lip colors and I felt like I was stepping out of my comfort zone a little with the color they sent me.  The lipstick is the Lasting Finish #29, which is a purple/pink shade.  I thought I was going to hate it.  But honestly, I don’t.  I kind of like the change.

Being a work-from-home small business owner, Momma and wife, I really don’t get out that much.  I probably should but I don’t.  But that doesn’t stop me from wearing lipstick and getting myself completely ready (hair AND makeup) every single morning.  I find it incredibly important to be dressed and ready to take on the day, even if you’re not planning on going anywhere.  So lipstick on a never-leave-the-house kinda day isn’t exactly out there.  In fact, I do it often.

I’m also rocking the Rimmel London Scandaleyes mascara by Kate Moss, but that’s harder to tell.  I will give you this much from the two products: I dig them.  The lipstick is lipstick, so it does rub off on things.  But not to the point where I was having my teeth covered in lipstick and it was smudged across my face.  I put it on in the morning before picking up Louis from school and only had to touchup lightly, twice throughout the day.  Once was because we had sub sandwiches for lunch and it stood no chance.  But that was expected.  The mascara was….mascara.  I wasn’t overly impressed or upset by it.  I’m not sure I’d pick it out of a crowd again.  The lipstick?  I’d certainly consider getting different colors.

What do you think?  Do I pull off this color well enough?

Disclaimer: I received the makeup items courtesy of Influenster, in exchange for a review.  I received my shirt from Designs by Nicolina because she’s awesome and we are friends that like to gift each other things.  Still, all opinions are my own.  This girl can’t be bought!

You are head to toe adorable! I love that your work-space is very much like you: bright, full of ideas and projects, and welcoming. I want to create there all day long. Also, the shirt is too perfect for words. I've been thinking about picking one up for a while now and it has to happen asap. Love the lipstick! Totally pulling it off.

I wish I could have a clean, beautiful space. Instead, it's chaotic and messy…but I do feel at home in it. 🙂
