Leggings + Boozy Coffee

Jan 22, 2016

Did I sell it on the title?  Or just make it seem like I’ve gone off the deep end?  Either way works for me, I suppose.  I couldn’t figure out what to call this post so I thought I’d just break it down to the basics.  Leggings.  Coffee with booze in it.  Bam.

Mabel Madison contacted me about their new poly/lycra fabrics that they will be carrying and wanted to see if I’d test them out with some P4P Peglegs.  Um.  Yes.  Of course I will!  I mean, it’s only a civic duty to the rest of the women that are wanting to turn these into leggings.  As if they needed to ask, really!

Good things first:

  • it washes well.  No fading that I could see.
  • It’s super soft.
  • The stretch is fab and these are incredibly comfortable.

The not-as-good:

  • This particular fabric is printed on a white base.  And while it’s gorgeous to look at, when stretched over my booty, it actually makes it see-thru.  Which from what I understand is a big no-no unless you want to get featured on “People of Walmart” or something along those lines.

What does that mean?  Sew this with tees, tanks, lined swimsuits…the works!  Just maybe skip it for leggings.  Unless you like showing your booty.  Who am I to judge?  Do your thing, girl!

If you’re wondering why I am so, um, dressed up for the occassion, I’ll tell you.  One of my sewing besties, Becca (from Free Notion and every helpful sewing forum out there practically!) sewed up some Peglegs with Mabel Madison fabric and posted THIS photo with it, while hosting and sewing along with the “Strong Is the New Skinny” tour.  She’s doing this amazing yoga feat that I’d only be able to accomplish with Photoshop.

And I thought to myself: “Self?  How can I be the most polar opposite of this amazing photo of Becca?  So no one can directly compare me to her?”  It dawned on me that I needed to go ahead and be honest about what leggings are to me: lounge wear.  When I’m working at home, which is always, I want to be dressed but comfortable.  Leggings and a tunic length shirt are perfection for me.  And slippers.  Because my tootsies are always cold.

And if I’m going to be totally honest, I added some Baileys Irish Cream to my coffee just for these photos.  I wanted to be authentic.  After 6:00, in the winter, wearing comfy clothes…it’s a requirement to add some booze to your drink.  Seriously.  I think there was a law written about it somewhere!

The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!
