Jerry’s Raglan Shirt by Coles Creations

Feb 29, 2016

Before you go all “poor neglected Bennett” on me, I need to tell you that I’ve sewn a few shirts for him recently…they just haven’t all been photographed and put on the blog.  Most of my sews are for pattern releases and blog tours so I tend to photograph all of mine and basically none of his.  (hmm….men’s blog tour soon?!?!  That sounds like fun!)

One of my favorite patterns as of late is the Jerry Raglan by Coles Creations.  I love me a good raglan sleeve, for my need to always sew with contrasting fabrics.

The weather was perfect yesterday.  And I had a willing, but very sarcastic model on my hands, so I thought the time was right to get some photos.

Please don’t try to judge the wrinkles in his arms too much.  I didn’t notice while taking the photos, but he’s got the sleeves all twisted.  I swear the fit is spot on.  Though, I’m certain some of the twisted look is also the fault of the sweater knit that I used.  Proper knits for men is a harder find because they need to be sturdier fabrics…and when you’re cheap like me, that’s often tougher to track down.

Anywho, back to the pattern itself.  I love it.  A whole lot.  It’s quick and easy and has lots of options for Bennett.  Apparently pockets are important when you’re a grown man and I’ll try and remember to keep adding them when I make more shirts.  So yay for a pocket option!

The pattern offers multiple sleeve lengths, sizes from 36 to 50, elbow patches, a triangle patch, cuffless/cuffed long sleeves, an optional hood, several different pocket options….the works.  You can use this pattern in so many combos that you’ll never get the same shirt twice.  Fabulous.

Or….umm….BADASS.  (or some other more manly word, hahaha.)

I have no idea why Bennett was doing this tough guy look in so many photos.  He really does have the best smile.  Apparently it only comes out in photos when he’s making fun of my posing.  Turd.

Go send some love to Cole’s Creations on her FACEBOOK GROUP.
And then go sew alllllll the raglans.

The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!
