Sunday Lately :: Week 105

Jan 1, 2017

Sunday Lately is a weekly linkup hosted by the Blogger Tribe, which is fearlessly led by Angelica (Gardening in High Heels) and myself. We e-hangout every Sunday, sharing a small glimpse into the past week of life in our own worlds. We’d love if you could join us!

This week’s themes: Picking, Telling, Debating, Mixing, Humming.

Picking. A few, pretty reasonable, things for this year’s resolutions.  And sticking with them.  I’m setting both personal and professional goals this year.  I’m excited to see how much ass we can kick in 2017.  One of my things is to get better at product photography.  We found this flooring at Lowe’s the other day, marked down to $10 because “it’s damaged”.  I can’t even see the damaged part…but I don’t care.  Because now I have a place to lay out my products and take some overhead shots.  And poor Louis’…it’s in his room because his floor has the most open space right next to my studio.

Telling. Myself to take it easy today.  Because (I’m writing this on Saturday evening) and I’m sure I overindulged in NYE celebrations.  So couch time and being lazy is okay.  Even if I have a laundry list of things that need to be handled.

Debating. On throwing in the towel with my web developer stint or not.  At least for now.  I’m trying to switch my Thread & Grain website over to WordPress and Woocommerce.  But it is literally the most frustrating journey I’ve been on so far, in terms of website developing.  And I’m just not emotionally capable of handing it, haha.  I spent like five days straight working on it…and got NOWHERE.  So my trial is running out and the new year is here.  And I think I’m just going to stay the course of my current site until it’s *perfect* and I can feel good making the switch.  sigh.

Mixing. It up a little this year.  And deciding to actually sell some of my me-made clothing.  I think (not this week, mind you) I’m going to start a “T&G Thursday”, where I sell a couple of pieces that I’ve made throughout the week.  This way, I can make what I want with the supplies that I have and not feel bogged down by requests.  Sizes and styles will always vary.  It’ll be super random and, hopefully, super fun!

Humming. Freaking Selena Gomez.  “Can’t Keep My Hands to Myself”.  Why do I like it so much?  I shouldn’t…and then it comes on my Amazon Radio and I’m all dancing around my sewing room to it.  Stupid.  PS.  Did you see Jana and Gleb dance to this on DTWS?  Holy cats.  Ah-mazing.

Disclosure: As always, you’ll find some affiliate links scattered within my post, which means I receive a small amount of compensation if you end up purchasing something I’ve recommended.  Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!
