Watcha Wearing January | Week 4

Jan 28, 2017

I’m back for my fourth and final week of sharing the handmade pieces that I’ve managed to wear over the last week.  Tibeca of Sewing by Ti is hosting this blogging series all month long…and my take on it is to show just how easy it is to wear something handmade every day.

Let’s get started!

Jan 22: On Sunday, I wore a Slimfit Raglan by Patterns for Pirates.  But I’m going to be honest…this is one of the pre-tester versions and is waaaay slimmer than we ended up making the pattern.  So don’t judge the shape by it.  I think the angle of the sleeve changed a lot too.  But it’s still plaid and wearable, so it’s still in my closet.  Haha.

The fabric is from Girl Charlee, but I’m not sure they carry it anymore.  HERE are the plaids they do have, though!

Jan 23: I have to laugh because i was just asked last night if I ever repeat my outfits.  Of course I do!  And this Made for Mermaids Mama Mya in the Joanns Sweater knit has seriously been on repeat so much this fall/winter that I feel like people are going to start telling me to stop wearing it.

It’s just so cozy.  And when I’m having a less than flattering body image day, it covers up all of the bits that bother me, so I can carry on with my life and not be weird and self conscious.

Jan 24: I met a bloggy friend in Pittsburgh and wanted to wear something cute and funky.  So I chose the P4P Sweet Tee that I’d colorblocked and used this amazing doughnut fabric for.  You can see better pictures of my top HERE.

The fabric came from RP Custom Fabrics…and is still on preorder if you want some of your own!

Jan 25: This is another pre-tester version of a top…which also happens to be the P4P Sweet Tee!  It’s a bit slimmer than we’d ended up with for the final pattern, but the same rules apply as the plaid above, haha.  It’s a plaid shirt.  And it fits.  So it stays in my closet because I looooove me some plaid.

The fabric is again from Girl Charlee.  I didn’t see it in their lineup but you can find other plaids of theirs HERE.

Jan 26: Don’t worry guys.  I wore more plaid this week.  Whoops.

This time, I broke out a woven top and wore my beloved P4P Timeless Tunic in a rayon plaid from JoAnn Fabrics.  I love their line of plaids this year…they’re soft and have great drape and they’ve produced some great colors.  And the Timeless Tunic is fun and flirty and blousy but still gives me a waist when I wear it.  So we all win in this one.

Jan 27: I’ll be sharing more pictures of this top later this week on the blog…because I love it so.  It’s a Boyfriend VNeck from Patterns for Pirates.  I’m embarassed that it took me so long to sew this pattern up.  And now, I think it might be one of my favorites.  I love the neckline.  And I love the relaxed fit.

I made this in a brushed poly from So Sew English.  It’s deliciously soft.

Jan 28: Long before I found P4P, I was pretending that I could make my own patterns.  I drafted up this cardigan and made myself like a million of them in flannel.  Sometimes I even throw myself a bone and drag them out of my closet so they get some wear….sometimes.

The shirt underneath is a P4P Sweet Tee.  Crazy that I’ve worn three this week!  And…this is the fourth time I’ve worn plaid.  Seems to be a trend with me.  The polka dots are just a basic cotton jersey from Fabric.com (found HERE) and the flannel can be snatched from the same site HERE.
