Not going to lie, every time I see one of my friends post something that they’ve made with Pretty Posh Prints fabrics, I get super jealous. Brenda seems to have all of the pretty fabrics! So when she asked if I’d want to help her promo her “Sierra” double brushed poly for the Fast Finger Sale that’s happening over there tonight….I didn’t hesitate.
Fun fact: my sister’s name is Sierra. She’s the baby of the family and though I don’t generally sew for her, I did keep some extras of this print so I could make and send her something with it. I mean, it’s her namesake. I should be a good big sister, right?
I’ve had this beautiful stretch lace for a little while and decided that it needed to become the neck finishing for a top in this print. I sewed the lace onto the opening of the neck edge (right side of lace to wrong side of bodice) and then flipped it and stitched it down. I also had to throw a few tacks into the points on the lace so it would lay properly. But after it was all said and done, I was happy with the little bit of extra work so I could have a special finishing on my top.
Of course I used the Sweet Tee as my pattern choice again. I just love the fit of this shirt and how stupid fast it is to make dolman tees. (I hope you can forgive my “the humidity is killing me” hair in these photos…..)
