Sunday Lately :: Week 152

Nov 26, 2017

Sunday Lately is a weekly linkup hosted by the Blogger Tribe, which is fearlessly led by Angelica (Gardening in High Heels) and myself. We e-hangout every Sunday, sharing a small glimpse into the past week of life in our own worlds. We’d love if you could join us!

This week’s themes: Adapting, Dancing, Bringing, Chancing, Losing.

Adapting. To being back home after a long, fun week in North Carolina.  We were gone from Friday – Friday and I’m still trying to get my wits about me so we can move back into a regular schedule.  Vacations are fun but so hard to recover from!

Dancing. With joy after I realized how easy it is to fleece-line a pair of crocheted gloves that I’d made.  Now I want to make a million more pairs, as well as some for Louis.  Obviously Lou’s won’t have a heart…but I was thinking about coming up with something fun to make for him.  I’ve been bitten by the crochet bug again and I’m loving it.

Bringing. Out the holiday cheer.  I freaking love Thanksgiving.  It’s my second favorite to Halloween….but only because we don’t wear costumes while eating turkey.  Any holiday that involves food and no pressure of gift giving is the winning one in my book.  And now…maybe I just might start listening to my Christmas pop stations and getting into the Christmas mood.  Maybe. I might not be totally ready until December 1 rolls around.

Chancing. It with timing and trying to squeeze one more order of custom fabrics in, so I have time to wash, cut, and sew them into some gifts.  I’m totally, completely, out of control obsessed with designing and printing my own fabrics.  It’s an expensive obsession to get involved with and yet here I am, constantly dreaming up what else I can make.  Whoops.

Losing. In a ton of games of Uno last night.  We went to a local brewery with some of our besties and played cards while enjoying some NEIPAs.  I haven’t played Uno in forever but it was fun to pick it back up.

Disclosure: As always, you’ll find some affiliate links scattered within my post, which means I receive a small amount of compensation if you end up purchasing something I’ve recommended.  Keep in mind that I link these companies and their products because of their quality and not because of the commission I receive from your purchases. The decision is yours, and whether or not you decide to buy something is completely up to you.  Purchasing from my links does not alter the pricing in any way for you, it simply helps feed my sewing, creating and blogging habits.  Thank you for your support!

    I love how this post was all linked together with a theme of family time! I’m beginning to wonder when we’ll be able to swing a vacay with our little dude arriving in February. Husband wants to do a beach house week with friends when he’ll be about 6 months, and I’m a little apprehensive about the idea…

    I don’t decorate much for Christmas because we always travel, but I do put up some fall and then Christmas decorations just to feel like we’re in the spirit of the season. 🙂

      Honestly, taking a baby with you on vacation is pretty easy. Especially when they’re little…since they can just kind of sleep wherever and do whatever. It’s when the kiddos get a little older that it gets harder. But you’ll figure it out! Just remember that you’re never in control, haha.

      Happy belated Thanksgiving to you too, dear! (No fan girling is allowed! I don’t deserve that, haha.)
