Do you ever want to kiss someone for making something so perfectly “your family”? Because when Sara (the badass boss babe from RP Custom Fabrics) shared this minky blanket topper and sent it to me to play with….I considered doing just that.
I married into a Scrabble-a-holic family. Bennett’s aunts and cousins are RUTHLESS at this game and all I can do is try to keep up. They pity me and give me “style points” but in reality, they kill me with like one letter played. I was super proud of myself last Thanksgiving because I was actually beating the two Master Scrabblers….all the way up until the end of our FIVE HOUR game. Where they swooped in and crushed me.
Not cool, Carolyn and Barb. Not cool at all.
I should probably talk about the blanket, huh?
These practically come already finished. You just decide what to do with them. Part of me wanted to back it with a terry cotton and use it for our beach trip this summer. But the rest of me gave into the fact that there was snow on the ground yesterday and I still want something cuddly. They are a whopping 72″ x 60″ in size.
I totally cheated and sewed it straight to a blanket that I’d purchased that was nearly the same size. It saved me from having to cut any of that faux fur and getting it all over my house and in my lungs. Best decision ever. This sucker is thick, soft and cuddly. AKA, perfect.
I’m totally bringing this with me to the next Gerkin gathering. They might beat me at Scrabble. But I have a fabulous blanket that they don’t have. (Spiteful much? Haha.)
