If you live in the Midwest like we do, you’ve probably been experiencing about a million back-to-back days of rain. Ugh. Rain. I feel like it’s really been cutting into the outdoor time we could be having this summer with Louis and it’s really starting to get me down. No one likes being stuck indoors all of the time, especially not this time of year.
Last night was no different. Same rain. Same gloomy weather. But instead of complaining about it (okay, so I complained a little bit) we decided to embrace it, head feet on. Following Bennett’s lead, Louis and I stripped our shoes off and started jumping around in the puddles. It was fun and a little bit liberating.

Bennett took these shots with his iPhone and I love this one of Louis’ little feet. He won’t let me paint my fingers or toes without getting in on the action and I always oblige by giving him one painted nail. Most of the time the kiddo has his socks on (he’s got this weird thing about never being barefoot…even inside) and I often forget it’s painted until moments like this. So silly, sweet and innocent.
Aren’t his little tootsies adorable?
It’s also been a really long time since I’ve made anything downloadable for you guys. So I thought it would be appropriate to theme-it-up with our current weather. [Click on the picture below to dowload.]
Together, we can survive this icky weather. And maybe even learn to embrace and dance in the rain while it’s here. Because there are just some things in life we can’t control and the weather is surely one of them. Splash in a puddle or two for me tonight, will ya?
